Friday 6th October 2023 LKS2 Maidstone Primary Hockey Tournament  Third place

LKS2 entered two teams into this competition. Both teams played amazingly for each other and represented Greenfields brilliantly. After seven very close games each, one of our teams finished 6th out of 8 in the pool stage. We also had one team who finished third and made it to the semi-finals. 

The semi-final was a very tight match which saw both teams defend excellently and the game finishing 0-0 at full time. The game was to be decided by a golden goal. Again, another battle by the two teams, not letting the other get the upper hand, played on for another 5 minutes before our opposition found a rare opportunity to score, which they did. Disappointed, the children gracefully shook hands, and knew they had given everything to a game that could have gone either way. 
Friday 6th October 2023 UKS2 Maidstone Primary Hockey Tournament  Group stages UKS2 took two teams to this competition who on the day played to the very best of their ability, giving everything they had to represent their school. Unfortunately, they found in their group players with a lot more experience and both teams finished outside the top 2 in their groups. Despite the disappointment of not making it into the semi-finals, the teams grew in confidence through the competition and remained excellent sports people, throughout the event. 
Monday 9th October 2023 UKS2 Boys Champions League - Maidstone UTD Semi-Final The UKS2 boys team were given the opportunity to take part in a football tournament at The Gallagher Stadium in Maidstone. The boys battled hard throughout the day with 6 teams in the group and only the top 2 going through. Putting everything they had into their group games, the boys came out top of their group unbeaten. Progressing through to the round of 16, the boys battled hard again to edge out another school to make it to the quarter-finals. In what was a close and intense affair, the quarter-final game went to penalties, in which Greenfields scored all 3 penalties, progressing to the semi-final. Unfortunately it wasn't to be, as again the game was taken to penalties. However, luck was not on the boys side for this shootout, but nonetheless the boys' efforts could not be faulted, and their attitudes were spot on. They did the school proud.
Monday 16th October 2023 UKS2 Girls Champions League - Maidstone UTD Semi-Final It was the girls' turn to have a go, competing at the Gallagher Stadium, with 36 schools having entered, all aiming to win. The girls were superb throughout the day, also topping their group and not conceding a single goal in their group games. The girls progressed through to the round of 16 and won again, setting them up for a tough quarter-final clash. Having wn their quarter-final match, the girls had matched the boys from the previous week, getting to the semi-finals. Unfortunately, it was heart break again as the girls lost by 1 goal, against a team who ended up going on to win the tournament. The girls were superb throughout the entire day and did the school proud with their fantastic performances throughout the day.
Thursday 19th October 2023 PASS UKS2 Boys Football Cup v Ditton Won 2-0 It was cup time for the boys, who were up against a very tough Ditton side. It was a close contest throughout with both sides having plenty of chances on goal, but the goalkeepers proved to continuously deny both sides. However, the relentlessness of the boys paid off as they eventually got one in the back of the net, before the stroke of half time. Having regrouped over half time, Ditton began to throw everything they had at our goal, however the boys continued to put everything they had on the line to keep the clean sheet intact. With a swift counter attack the boys were able to claim a second as that left Ditton feeling deflated with minutes remaining on the clock. The full time whistle went and with their clean sheet and two goals, the boys have progressed into the next round of the cup!
