UKS2 Pass League Boys Football vs Park Way Monday 14th November 2022 3-0 win

For our first league match of the year, Greenfield Boys travelled away to Park Way Primary School. It was a hard game with Park Way defending incredibly well and breaking through our defence for some powerful shots - which were very well saved by our keeper, George. The game was tied at half time. The boys went back onto the pitch, knowing they had a tough 20 minutes ahead of them. They continued to push and challenge the defence, having most the possession. Not long into the half, George gained possession and saw a gap in the defence, with no hesitation he took a shot which flew straight into the top corner - a fantastic goal! Park Way came back at us hard after the goal, but they could not get passed George in goal. They soon gave away a free kick just inside their half where Oliver saw his opportunity. He set the free kick up perfectly and launched the ball straight into the back of the net. Another fantastic goal. The game progressed and Park Way looked like they might gain a goal back with some great attacking and shots. Oliver broke free with the ball and ran up the wing, seeing yet another opportunity, he took his shot from outside the penalty box. The ball flew passed their defence and into the back of the net. Three amazing goals.

KS1 Pass League  Football vs Barming Tuesday 22nd November 2022 7-1 loss KS1 travelled across Maidstone to Barming Primary where the children played in their first ever fixture representing Greenfields. It was a tough game against a well drilled opposition, but the children fought hard. Despite going 3 goals down at half time, the children came back strong to start the second half. A well taken kick off lead to Reggie scoring a fantastic goal. Unfortunately, Barming went onto score more goals, but this did not stop the children playing hard and having a great time.
LKS2 Kent Teach Football Thursday 21st November 2022 Knocked out in the quarter-finals We entered two teams into this event, and both teams played some amazing football. Both teams came up against some challenging teams, leading to one of our teams being knocked out in the group stages. Our second team managed to win their group and progressed to the quarter-finals. The children came up against a familiar opponent - having beaten Snodland in the final of the hockey tournament. Both teams were set on winning the fixture. Despite playing hard and working brilliantly as a team, Snodland managed to score two goals, putting them through to the semi-final before going onto winning the whole competition.
Indoor Basketball Monday 28th November 2022 Won 3/5 games Having never played basketball competitively before, the children went to this event very eager to play. Thanks to Mrs Flisher, the children have been training hard for the past few weeks to ensure they are ready for this event. They used the pre-existing netball skills to help them negotiate the basketball court. The children came up against some very experienced teams but still managed to hold their own, leading them to win 3 out of their 5 games.
UKS2 Boys Kent Teach Football Thursday 1st December 2022 Winners! Across UKS2, we had four teams playing football over the two days of tournaments. Two teams of boys played on Thursday 1st December, being the smallest school entered into the competition. Both teams came up against some very difficult teams, but still dug deep to battle for the win. Unfortunately, one team did not progress out of the group stages, but the second came runners-up in their group. Taking on Snodland, the children fought hard and managed to secure the win, taking them through to the final. The final was a tough game and the children had to take on Madginford. At the end of a great game, the score was still level, taking them game through to penalties. In a nail-biting clash, where a Madginford penalty had to be retaken, Greefields came out on top, taking the win and first place at the competition - well done!
UKS2 Girls Kent Teach Football Friday 2nd December 2022   On the Friday, we had two more teams playing, but this time it was the turn of the girls. 20 girls from year 5 and 6 turned out to play, with many never having played football before. Despite this, everyone played very well and fought hard to work as a team. Unfortunately, neither team made it out of the group stages, but everyone had a great day and played some amazing football.
