Wednesday 14th June LKS2 Dynamo Cricket 5th The children played a number of different schools at Dynamo Cricket - having never played this version of the game before. Despite this, the children were focused and eager to play, getting better with every game they played. Special mention to Swanley and Izzy who really excelled playing this version of cricket! Swanley made some amazing catches to catch out the opposition and Izzy was incredibly tactical with scoring runs while batting.
Wednesday 14th June UKS2 Dynamo Cricket 4th

The afternoon brought the turn of the UKS2 children to play Dynamo Cricket. Again, this was a variation of the game the children had never played before, but with the help of the LKS2 children before their event, they quickly mastered the adaptations. The children really grasped the game well and the was some amazing cricket from lots of the children. Parisa really threw herself into the game and was a solid fielder for the team, she prevented the ball from reaching the boundaries multiple times, stopping the oppositions from receiving 4 runs. Kaleb and Sonny also fielded really well but also batted the ball incredibly well, earning us multiple 4s and 6s for batting the ball out of bounds.

Monday 19th June UKS2 Boys Football Summer Competition

3rd + 4th in groups

We entered two football teams into our annual summer tournament. Both teams played some excellent football and were unlucky to be knocked out in the group stages.  A special mention to the grey team, where lots of our year 4/5 children played their first games for the school!
Tuesday 20th June  KS1 Football Summer Competition POSTPONED TO 4TH JULY
Thursday 22nd June UKS2 Netball Summer Competition Winners Go Team Greenfields!  The team played some amazing netball and retained the shield from 2022.  In the group stages, Greenfields won all 4 games to top the group.  This took them into a semi-final against a very talented Allington team.  The semi-final couldn't have been closer with the match finishing 4-4.  This meant a 5 minute of period of extra time needed to be played.  Greenfields ran out 6-4 winners.  On to the final which was against Trottsicliffe.  This was a repeat of the netball cup final from term 5, which Trottsicliffe won and it looked like it might be the same result again as Greenfields were 0-2 down at half time.  Team Greenfields really showed their resilience to turn it around to win 3-2!
Friday 23rd June UKS2 Girls Football Summer Competition 4th in group (twice!) We entered 2 teams into out girls summer tournament.  This meant some of our year 4/5 children played their first every competitive matches for the school.  Both teams played some great football and only just missed out on making the semi-finals.  The Green team only conceded one goal in their 4 games and the grey team would have made the semi-finals if they would have got just one more point!  Well done to all the teams that took part!
Monday 26th June KS1 Finals Day 3rd Our KS1 team came 2nd in the group in the league, which lead them to play in the Finals Day on the 26th. Here, the top two teams from both groups played each other to decide on an overall winner in KS1. Sadly, Allington had to withdraw, leaving Greenfields, Snodland and Barming to play each other. After some really tough games, with amazing football from our team - especially super defending from Gracie and Reggie B and some great goals from Tyler - we finished 3rd. The children have had a brilliant season and have done the school proud over the course of the year! A very well earned 3rd place!
Thursday 29th June  Girls football vs Loose (friendly) W 1-0 The girls football team played some excellent football in this friendly fixture.  The game was a close run thing and both teams could have taken the lead in the first half if it wasn't for some excellent goal keeping from both teams.  The second half started with the score still at 0-0.  Greenfields had the better of the second half and could have taken the lead when Doris was though on goal but the Loose goal keeper made another excellent save.  With 5 minutes remaining the deadlock was broken.  Darcie ran onto an excellent through ball and calmly slotted the ball into the top right hand corner of the goal!  All of the children played brilliantly!
Monday 3rd July  UKS2 Dragonball 1st The children attended this event having never played Dragonball before. After a quick introduction to the sport, they quickly picked up the skills needed and dominated the first game. The children all worked really well as a team to be successful at the event. The children also demonstrated excellent sports-personship - with a special mention to George who lead by great example.
Tuesday 4th July KS1 Football Summer Football Competition 2nd and 5th

For this event, Greenfields entered two teams to participate, both teams had a great day and played some great football. Our second placing team had a truly excellent tournament and did not lose a single game! Only conceding 2 goals in total, lead them to be fighting down to the last game to see who would take the 1st place trophy. Unfortunately, Park Way beat our team with a goal difference of 4 and leaving us with second place. A thoroughly deserving winner and a brilliant 2nd place team!
