We read the story, drew either a Smed or a Smoo and then wrote a description of them. Look at our amazing writing.
The Smeds and the Smoos
We used Beebots on Maps, just like the maps in the story. We had to really concentrate when we programmed them.

Term 4- Julia Donaldson
We are going to focus on a different Julia Donaldson story every week. We will complete a range of different activities linked to the book and apply lots of our newly learnt reading and writing skills.

Introducing dinosaurs- we completed a range of different dinosaur activities.
Term 3 - Animal Planet
We are learning all about Dinosaurs and Animals this term.
We made potato pancakes, a traditional food eaten during Hanukkah.
We learnt that people give money to celebrate Hanukkah. So we investigated coins, their values and then used them to pay for Jewish items.
We looked at the Star of David and made our own!

HALLOWEEN
Term 2- Lets Celebrate!
This term our learning is going to based around cultural celebrations. We will be covering Halloween, Fireworks, Remembrance, Diwali, Hanukkah and Christmas. The children will learn about the way we celebrate them and why, differences and similarities, taste food, try dances and get creative!

We ordered numbers to 10! We cut out numbered washing to add to our washing lines... this was just like the washing in Charlie's Superhero Underpants story we read.
Fantastic involvement levels in Child initiated learning!
We learnt what a 2D shape is. We then used them to create different pictures.
In reading time, we are focussing on the Gruffalo story. We roleplayed the story, using puppets.
The weather was awful... so we made sure we still did some daily exercise by using Sticky kids songs.
We designed our own cakes when we learnt about charities and our Macmillan Coffee morning.
