Term 1 - Superheroes
For our first topic, we are going to be exploring everything about Superheroes. First of all, we are going to look at some real life superheroes who were ordinary people that did some extraordinary things. We are then going to wide range of superheroes, thinking carefully about their appearance, personality and powers. Using our drawing skills, we are going to be doing some detailed sketching of different superheroes. Then we will move onto what superheroes might need to eat be strong and healthy. Lastly, we will finish off the time with some RE, looking at Jewish people.
This week we are focusing all of our learning around fact files. We started with looking at fact files and their features such as; title, sub-headings, picture and writing.
We chose a superhero to focus our fact file on and drew a detailed picture.
We completed the next part of our fact file today. We focused on the title, real name, age and their power.
We are learning how to count in 2's. We was able to put the numbers in order from 2 to 10.
We have worked really hard this week in creating our Superhero masks. First of all, we designed our own mask, then we labelled what materials/resources we may need such as; card, colouring pencils, hole puncher, scissors and string. We then created our own Superhero masks. Keep scrolling to see the finishing product.
Here are our Superhero masks!!!
We had our first library session today. We were able to choose a book to take home to read with our grown-ups!
In Maths this week, we have been looking at one more and one less than the number given.
While learning about Florence Nighingale (a real life superhero), we compared modern day hospitals and Victorian day hospitals.
We researched Rosa Parks (a real life superhero) and found out lots about her life.
This week we have created our own unique superheroes and given them an identity.
