Code of Conduct

Maidstone League Code of Conduct – 2026/27

For Players:

Treat all opponents and refs/umpires with respect. Accept decisions without arguing, control your temper, and do not cheat. Display graciousness in defeat and modesty in victory.

For Parents and Spectators:

Respect the decisions of refs/umpires and encourage your child fairly without putting them under undue pressure. Do not use inappropriate language, harass or verbally abuse anyone involved in the game.

For School staff and refs/umpires:

Maintain professional boundaries, act as role models, and ensure all participants are treated equally and fairly. Prioritise child safety and wellbeing above winning.

School staff are responsible for the behaviour of their children and spectators at all times.  If anyone falls outside of the code of conduct, school staff should deal with this immediately.  If this behaviour does not improve, the child should take no further part in the game and a spectator should be asked to leave before the game can continue.

It is recommended that schools provide the code of conduct with children and parents before each game and ask them to sign to say they have read and understood the code of conduct and will follow the expectations.

Refs/umpires will stop the game if they feel the code of conduct is not being followed.  The game will not continue until the code of conduct is being followed.
