Team sizes and gender requirements

• From September 2026, there will not be a KS1 football league (in line with FA guidance on competitive matches).
• From September 2026, LKS2 football league matches will be 5v5 (in line with FA guidance).  The pitch size will not change.  There are equal opportunities for boys and girls within LKS2.  Under no circumstances can a male player play in the girls' league.  A female player can play in the boys' league if this is better suited to their development. If this is the case, they are then not permitted to play in the girls' league.
• UKS2 football league matches will remain 7v7.  There are equal opportunities for boys and girls within LKS2.  Under no circumstances can a male player play for the girls' team.  A female player can play in the boys' league if this is better suited to their development. If this is the case, they are then not permitted to play in the girls' league.
• The KS2 mixed netball league will remain 7v7 and will have a gender enforcement of at least 2 boys and 2 girls on the court at all times.

Reporting results and arranging refs/umpires

• Home teams should report the score via the appropriate online form.  
• For football, the home team should arrange the ref.
• For netball, both teams should provide an umpire.

League fixture deadlines

• There will be football and netball league fixture deadlines throughout the year to support schools to complete their fixtures in a timely manner. The deadlines are outlined below:

1. Term 2 deadline – The term 2 fixtures should be complete by the end of term 2.  If they are not complete by the end of term 2, schools will have until the end of term 3 as the final deadline.  If term 2 fixtures are not complete by the end of term 3 (or the result is not reported), they will be recorded as a No Result (NR) and both schools will lose 0-5.
2. Term 3 deadline – The term 3 fixtures should be complete by the end of term 3.  If they are not complete by the end of term 3, schools will have until the end of term 4 as the final deadline.  If term 3 fixtures are not complete by the end of term 4 (or the result is not reported), they will be recorded as a No Result (NR) and both schools will lose 0-5.
3. Term 4 deadline (if this is the final term of fixtures) – The term 4 fixtures should be complete by the end of term 4.  If term 4 fixtures are not complete by the end of term 4 (or the result is not reported), they will be recorded as a No Result (NR) and both schools will lose 0-5.

Term 4 deadline (if this is not the final term of fixtures) – The term 4 fixtures should be complete by the end of term 4.  If they are not complete by the end of term 4, schools will have until the end of term 5 as the final deadline.  If term 4 fixtures are not complete by the end of term 5 (or the result is not reported), they will be recorded as a No Result (NR) and both schools will lose 0-5.
5. Term 5 deadline (if this is the final term of fixtures) – The term 5 fixtures should be complete by the end of term 5.  If term 5 fixtures are not complete by the end of term 5 (or the result is not reported), they will be recorded as a No Result (NR) and both schools will lose 0-5.

Cup fixture deadlines

• There will be UKS2 football and KS2 netball cup fixture deadlines throughout the year to support schools to complete their fixtures in a timely manner. The deadlines are outlined below:

Term 1 deadline – The term 1 fixtures should be complete by the end of term 1.  If they are not complete by the end of term 1, schools will have until the end of the first week in term 2 as the final deadline.  If term 1 fixtures are not complete by the end of the first week in term 2 (or the result is not reported), they will be recorded as a No Result (NR) and both schools will be eliminated.

• The football cup finals will be held at the Gallagher Stadium on Friday 11th June 2027. 
• The netball cup final will be played at Greenfields during term 6.
