Anglo-Saxons to Scots

During this learning experience, Cedar trees will be answering two key enquiries: How did Britain change after the Romans left, and what was the main cause of the end of the Anglo-Saxons? Through our lessons we will look at whom the Anglo-Saxons and Scots were, how and why they settled in Britain and what their life was like. We will also investigate Alfred the Great and the end of the Anglo-Saxon era at Hastings. Finally, we will look at how hard it was to invade and settle in Britain. For more information, please refer to our curriculum document linked below.

Anglo-Saxons to Scots

We learnt about who the Anglo-Saxons were, where they came from and where they settled once they had invaded Britain.

We then learnt more about Anglo-Saxon life. We explored their villages, and the other invaders that the Anglo-Saxons faced.

We finished our learning experience by reviewing the Anglo-Saxon reign, which ended with the Battle of Hastings. We explored the enquiry questions – highlighting the key areas of the invader's journey.
