Computing

Computing

At Greenfields, we believe all children should be provided with a varied and engaging computing curriculum. Our vision is to embed computing into as many learning opportunities as possible. In the progressive digital world, we aim to equip the next generation to utilise technology throughout all areas of their lives. Additionally, we promote digital citizenship through modelling how social media should be used responsibly with a strong focus on creating a good digital footprint.

The computing curriculum can be split into three main areas:

Information Technology (multimedia and data retrieval and handling)

Using technology to create a range of digital content.

Computer Science (Programming)

Analyse problems in computational terms and write programs.

Digital Literacy (E-Safety)

Ensuring pupils are responsible, competent, confident and creative users of technology.

For more information about the computing objectives we cover, please look at the computing progression of skills below.

Throughout the year, we will be covering computing in a range of ways, including Learning Experiences and across the wider curriculum. Click on the links below to see how the children's technological skills are being developed.
