Welcome to our D.T club page!
We have been building boats! We talked about why a boat floats then decided what materials would be best to use. We used saws, glue guns and other tools to secure the pieces together to make them waterproof.
After we finished constructing our boats we tested them on the water and then had a boat race! Some floated all the way across but some weren’t so successful…
In our D.T club we have been using a range of materials to build bridges, we tested them with weighted objects to see if the structure was strong enough. When it didn't work we thought about how we could reinforce the centre of the bridge to make it stronger.
We have been using a range of materials to make parachutes! We looked at different types of parachutes and thought about which shape would be best. We then had to decide which material we thought would make our parachute fall as slowly as possible. Once we had finished, we tested them outside.
We have been using different materials to create our junk models! We looked at what resources we had then planned what we could do with them. We experimented with different ways to secure our models including glue guns, cello tape and string.
