Topic- This week we are going to be learning all about the Arctic!
Listen to the story 'Way Up In The Arctic' by clicking the link below. Listen carefully for all of the different animals you might find in the Arctic.

Once you have finished listening to the story, can you write about your favourite part of the story? Remember to apply your phonics skills when writing.

Reading- This week, our story for reading is 'The Polar Bear and The Snow Cloud'. Click the link below to listen to the story. Pause it as you watch it to discuss what is happening and ask any questions.

Phonics- Today we will be recapping our phonics skills before learning our new sounds/tricky word for this week.

Recap- Go onto phonics play and play ‘Flashcards’ recapping all of the sounds we know so far.

Practise- Go to ‘Dragon’s Den’ and select ‘phase 3’ then choose j,v,w or x words to practise reading and decide whether they are real or fake.  

Apply- Go to ‘rocket rescue’ and select phase 2. Listen carefully to the word and see if you can spell it in order to build your rocket.

Topic-
 Click on the link below to learn more about Arctic animals. What interesting facts have you discovered about Arctic animals? Can you discuss what you have learnt with an adult and think about the differences between Arctic and Desert animals.

Maths- We are continuing to practice doubling today. Can you use objects at home to complete the doubling activities in the document below?

Reading- Recap the story from yesterday. Can you remember what it was about? Who was the main character? 
Today we would like you to use your own polar bear template to practice your letter formation.
Can you fill the middle of your polar bear with as many of the new letters you have learnt as possible? You will have to make your letter formation quite small to fit them all in. Don't forget your cursive writing! 

Try to include our new phase 3 sounds (j,v,w,x) as well as some of our phase 2 sounds. I have attached them below as a reminder.

Phonics- 
Recap- Go to phonics play and practice all of the flashcards that we have learnt so far. 

Once you have done this, watch the videos below to see Mrs Turner introduce our new sound and complete the activities.

Reading- For today's reading activity, we would like you to go back onto 'Oxford Owl' and choose a pink or red level book to read.

Topic - Your challenge today is to freeze some water and see what happens. Can you answer the following questions?

- What have you made?

 - What happens if you leave the ice out in a warm temperature?
