Oak trees performed ‘the animal boogie’ as a class. They split into groups for each animal in the song and composed a piece of music to match their animal. Children then practiced performing, ensuring they looked at their audience and listened to the song carefully. They also used their voices to sing along to the song. Watch their amazing performance below!

Lime trees listened to a piece of music called ‘the carnival of the animals‘ by Camille Saint-Saens. They used this as inspiration for their own performances. Children got given an animal and worked in groups to compose a piece of music to match their animal. They thought carefully about long and short sounds (tempo), and high and low sounds (pitch).
