In term 1, Chestnuts will be covering Ancient Egypt in history, electricity in science, watercolour in art and online relationships and being safe, in PSHE. In English, we will be focussing on 'The Day the Crayons Quit' by Drew Daywalt and 'James and the Giant Peach' by Roald Dahl. We will be doing lots of work on sentence skills and handwriting and will be 'writing to entertain'. This involves writing stories, descriptions, poetry and character or setting descriptions. In Maths, we will focus on Place Value for most of the term before moving onto Addition and Subtraction towards the end of the term. During our PE lessons, we will be covering fundamental movement skills, and they will take place on Wednesday and Thursdays. For the last two weeks of the term we will be having lots of swimming lessons and practice. This term we are also learning Spanish and have our trip to Maidstone Museum!
