Colour run
Lime trees loved getting covered in paint during the colour run.

Mote park trip
Lime trees took a trip to Mote Park to explore the local area, making tree bark rubbings and looking for inspiration for birds and bugs art sculptures.

Limes explored and played in the play area.

We also collected some natural materials to use in our learning at school, such as using acorns as maths manipulatives.

English - Mixed by Arree Chung
The children re-told the story by making the buildings from the book, mixing colours and re-writing the story in their own words.

Outdoor exploration
Limes have been busy exploring and experimenting in our wonderful outside area. They have been looking at what animals and plant-life are living in the pond, experimenting with colours from smashing leaves onto paper, and measuring distances with rolling conkers. The children have also been practising fine motor skills by cutting up fruit and creating "salad bowls" for the local wildlife. Limes also made different sand animals and discussed different animal groups.

PE Boogie-tots
During PE, the children had the opportunity to play team games using the parachute as part of their Boogie tots lessons.

Art
During the art sessions, Limes have been experimenting with wire, looking into how wire can be manipulated, cut and sculptures created. This is helping the children learn skills to assist with the bird and bee sculptures that they will be creating sculptures inspired by the artist Barbara Kobylinska.

\
Maths
During maths lessons, Limes have been learning about the greater than, less than, and equal to concepts. They have also been strengthening their number bonds to ten.

Phonics and handwriting
The children have been learning to write and recapping our previously learnt sounds.
Term 1
This term in science, we will be exploring the wonderful world of animals! We will be learning about the different groups of animals and discovering what makes them similar and different. We will investigate mammals, birds, reptiles, fish, and amphibians, thinking carefully about their features and where they live. Alongside this, we will be developing our scientific skills by observing, sorting and classifying animals and asking questions about the world around us.
In English, we will be exploring the colourful and thought-provoking book Mixed by Arree Chung, using it to inspire our own ideas, discussions and writing.
In Maths, we will be building our understanding of place value within 10, developing confidence in number and exploring different ways to represent them.
We will also be exploring Christianity in RE and thinking about our place in the world in PSHE, as we learn more about ourselves, others and the world we share.
