Anglo-Saxons to Scots

During this learning experience, Silver Birch answered the enquiry: How hard was it to invade and settle in Britain? To help us reach a conclusion, we explored a timeline showing how Britain changed after the Romans left, investigated Anglo-Saxon artefacts from Sutton Hoo and learnt about Alfred the Great’s response to the Viking threat. We examined the four claimants to the English throne, discussed who had the strongest claim to be king and reenacted the Battle of Hastings. Finally, we used evidence from across the unit to answer our enquiry.
