Colour Run
Elm Trees had a fantastic time during the colour run event! We thoroughly enjoyed taking the younger children around the course too and took the responsibility very seriously. It was an absolute pleasure seeing how kind and supportive they were!

Anglo-Saxons to Scots
During this learning experience, Elm trees will be answering two key enquiries: How did Britain change after the Romans left, and what was the main cause of the end of the Anglo-Saxons? To be able to answer these fully, we will be looking at whom the Anglo-Saxons and Scots were and how they came to settle in Britain, as well as what their life was like. We will also investigate Alfred the Great before finally asking how hard it was to invade and settle in Britain.
The Battle of Hastings determined who was eventually crowned King! We recreated the battle as a whole phase on the field. The children had a great time marching into battle!

We investigated who should be King: Harald Hardrada, Harold Godwinson or William of Normandy.

We were surprised to discover that the Anglo-Saxons were not simple villagers after all. In fact, Sutton Hoo showed us what skilled craftspeople they were!

Look at the amazing Anglo-Saxon villages we created.

We explored the different artefacts to find out more about the Anglo-Saxons.
