Football L 3-1
What a lovely way to start the Greenfields week by hosting 2 friendly matches vs Oaks Primary School. Both games kicking off at the same time proved to be very interesting, not knowing which game to keep your eye on. The Greenfields footballers started off very strong against Oaks proving to create a few chances at their end but not finding the back of the net! Oaks carried on battling through the second half scoring some fantastic team goals to win the match 3-1. Our netballers proved to do the same job in their match, getting the ball towards their net very quick but once again missing the target. In the end it was a well battled out match with the final score a 3-2 win to Greenfields. It was a lovely evening for all. We look forward to our next event together. Thank you Oaks!!

Greenfields started off shakey by allowing St Georges to have a few shots at Goal but was denied by Leah G who made some superb saves. The game went to go on and it was 2-0 at half time. With the Greenfields children battling in the second half, the game went 3-0 before we was awarded a penalty. The original penalty was saved but Doris followed it up to make it 3-1. St Georges then scored 2 more goals to seal the win and make the game 5-1. Some last minute chances that hit the post by Louie and Sonny, proved to be too late. |Tuesday 22nd March||Greenfields vs Northborough (Boys Football)||L 5-0|
Our first day in March of lovely weather saw Team Greenfields host Northborough for our first round cup match of the season. The strong Northborough team went
1-0 up before half time however during the first half proved to be a hard team to break down creating a few chances but couldn't score. The second half saw a similar story, trying to change formation to be more attacking against the strong side. A few clear chances for Northborough saw them go 3-0 up in 2 minutes. The Greenfields boys continued to work hard through out the second half but with Northborough scoring their 2 set pieces saw the final 5-0 to Northborough. Well done and good luck in the next round!

|Tuesday 22nd March||Greenfields vs Northborough (Girls Football)||L 4-2|
It was a lovely evening in the sunshine as we welcomed Northborough for our term 4 league match. The match was very even in the first half and Greenfields were unlucky to go in at half time 2 goals down. The team were full of belief at half time and soon pulled a goal back when the second half started. Layla scored with a shot from the right into the bottom left hand corner. After only 9 minutes of the second half it was 2-2! Doris broke away and slotted her shot underneath the goal keeper. From here it was all Greenfields and it looked like there would only be one winner. However, Northborough had other ideas and scored 2 late goals on the break away. A great game played in a fantastic spirit by both teams. Player of the match was Violet for a great performance in midfield.
|Thursday 24th March||Kent Teach - Handball Tournament||3rd place|
Our Kent Teach games this term for Years 3&4 was handball in which we had 8 teams arrive for the tournament. Greenfields over the course of the tournament grew in confidence and started to pick the pace up with the way in which they played. They scored their self second place in the group stages which meant they was through to the semi final! Up against a strong Eastborough team saw them lose 6-1 which meant they was in the 3rd/ 4th play off. Team Greenfields was winning 3-1 with a minute to go. A very good Tiger side made the score 3-2 with 40 seconds to go. 20 seconds later Tiger scored again to make it 3-3. With the last 10 seconds to go Theo T threw the ball and it hit the back of the net to win Greenfields the game and position in 3rd place. Would just like to say a massive well done all the teams that entered the tournament. Not only was the standard of Handball very good but the right attitude was displayed by all teams!

With in no time Doris scored 2 more fantastic goals to give team Greenfields a 3-0 lead and Doris first ever hatrick for the school. |Friday 1st April||Staff vs Children - Netball||Our first staff vs children sports match in 2022 saw our netball squad take on the Greenfields teachers in what can only be described as a very competitive and end to end match. The first point came from Mr Andrews who then went on to score 5 more points through out the game. The children being determined against the staff showed real resilience to pull back the game. Our netball squad who recently took part in a tournament, had to change tactics through out the match to keep up with the staff. After the last quarter of the whole game their was some dubious score counting, the staff won by a single point meaning the final result was a 9-8 to the staff! Well played to all the children and staff involved in the event. From Greenfields staff, we hope you all have a lovely half term!|
