Expressive arts and design (including music) is covered throughout the year in Apples and Cherries through child initiated, as well as in terms two and five where it will also be covered in adult directed sessions. This term, the topic is celebration.
To celebrate bonfire night, the children used instruments to create and compose their own firework display sounds to accompany the fireworks on the interactive whiteboard.
The children LOVED celebrating all things Diwali, including learning a dance to some music inspired by the Diwali celebration. Together in the hall, they practised their moves, before performing in the dark whilst wearing glowsticks. They were amazing!
In child initiated, the children enjoyed composing music on the Chrome music lab. Some of their compositions are attached on the link below.
